About the Founder

 

Hey there! I’m Sarah, the founder of Zikini Australia and the creator of Little Ray Mineral Sunscreen for babies and kids.

As a mother of two and a redhead covered in freckles, I know firsthand the importance of sun protection. With a Fitzpatrick skin type I, I’m at a higher risk for skin cancer, and I’ve experienced the effects of harsh Aussie sunburns throughout my childhood. I’m determined to protect my kids from the same fate.

Being very sensitive to the ingredients in many sunscreens myself, I faced the same challenges with my first baby who had bad skin reactions. We tried countless mineral and sensitive sunscreens—many were too thick, others were greasy, and some didn’t live up to their claims, hiding irritating chemicals and harsh ingredients.

This led me to wonder: why aren’t there any outstanding zinc-based mineral sunscreens for babies and kids?

That’s how Zikini Australia was born, with a mission to:

• Craft a sunscreen using natural ingredients and effective physical UV filters (like zinc).
• Make application a breeze. Let’s face it—parenting is tough, and getting kids to wear sunscreen shouldn’t add to the challenge.
• Inject some fun! Little Ray is designed to be vibrant and exciting, encouraging kids to choose it willingly instead of resisting.
• Raise awareness and educate. I’m passionate about helping this generation of parents better protect their children from sun damage and skin cancer.
